Why aren't the Chinese saying anything?

Is this more Republican bullshit? Can't trust anything these guys say since it changes a dozen times daily. On Monday, we find out there were no deals, and the Chinese had no meeting with anyone.

> Just remember why we’re here in the first place — the United States has a massive $1.2 trillion trade deficit, so the President declared a national emergency and imposed tariffs, and we’re confident that the deal we struck with our Chinese partners will help us to work toward resolving that national emergency.”

This feels less like a press release and more like being scolded by an H&R Block employee for not refinancing my loans.

…and that national emergency was over fentanyl, and these “trade deals” and not treaties so they’ll be reversed as soon as control of Congress is lost.

But also over returning manufacturing to America. Which doesn’t really work if you undercut the tariffs with a trade deal.

I’m sure they’ve been completely outplayed by the Chinese negotiators and have unwittingly agreed to a deal with second order effects that massively benefit China.

"We will be giving details tomorrow..." This sounds more like "U.S. Announces that U.S. Will Announce Trade Deal..."

But all kidding aside, they probably wanted to get this out there for a beginning-of-the-week jump when stock markets open Monday morning.
